A Moment of Calm

| | Comments (1)

Do you have times in your life when it is so chock full of stuff, you are literally going from event to event, duty to duty, chore to chore without a moment to think what you are doing? The adrenaline if flowing, you are in top notch form and you are getting tons of stuff done! I am sure you know the feeling. I have been like that for the last few weeks. We are putting together a neighborhood wide yardsale (and I am the organizier, so I created the signs and sent the ad to the paper).

I am the owner of my high school reunion yahoo site. When it was time for our 20th reunion, we literally threw it together in about 3 months. This is amazing considering that part of throwing that together was contacting 150 classmates! Well, the 25th reunion is coming up in 2009 and the 50 of us that are still in touch, want to get an early start, so emails have been flying like crazy. As the person in charge of contacting people, I have been trying to decide the best approach so that I don't have to go through all the names and call them one by one again!

Then there was getting together the stuff we needed to apply for assistance while Daniel continues to look for work. Also, trying to figure out how to stretch what few dollars we have left the furthest possible.

Then there is the company that I write Ebay Ads for. Normally I do about 35 ads a week.

Then there is the new thing I am doing which involves writing 2-5 paid post a day (and for each paid post, I write one post from me).

Then there was the fact that I was working to get my other two books transformed into Ebooks. Which involved typing them in from the hard copy, then laying them out, then finding photos and putting them in and then trying to translate them from publisher into PDF files (I have already blogged about that), and working to get it already for my big launch on October first.

Then there is the cleaning, homeschooling, getting groceries, reading other people's blogs, fundraiser for the upcoming piano recital, finding a new church, trying to sell our Suburban and a few other big ticket items (which necessitates calling in ads).

So, I have been rolling merrily along and getting by on maybe 6 hours of sleep a night when suddenly, I realize I am ahead of the game. Things have kind of come to a screeching halt!

1. I am ready for the Yard Sale. The signs are made, the ads are sent, the items are gathered to sell. All I have to do is put up the signs next week.

2. After sorting through tons of suggestions, I have sent ads to three local papers and for the next month, all I have to do is answer phone calls and get people to sign up for the yahoo group.

3. I applied for assistance on Friday. Now it is just the waiting game.

4. VaBay is having a slow week...I have only done 2 ads this whole week, by now normally I have done 20-25. They just haven't had any ads for me to write.

5. I am still doing the paid posts each day, but it's not so bad with so much of my other time freed up.

6. With the extra time I had this past weekend and help from DH, my ebooks are ready for my big promotion!

7. Okay, this stuff is ongoing, but overall, I am sitting here feeling like I am not doing something because I have been running in high gear for the last couple of weeks. And I am faced with this dilemma...do I try to get ahead on some other items (like cleaning), or do I sit back, put my feet up, read a book and get ready for the next onslaught:)
