Bits and Pieces of Daily Living

I have had three interesting observations/moments in the last few days that I thought I would record here for posterity.

1. on Wednesday I went out and worked on the pool some. I have been busy with other things and have ignored it, so I went out, added some water, did the chemical thing and checked the filter. I wanted to refill the air ring around the top, but coudn't find the air pump. I moved it when we cleaned up the Suburban to sell it (it acts as our moving storage shed). Now I can't remember where I moved it to. Gotta hate that. Well, yesterday morning, the kids were taking mail to the mailbox and informed me that the pool and lost 1/2 of its water! I asked if this was an April Fool's joke, but it wasn't. Apparently since the air ring is low on air, the water overcame the side of the pool and about 1/2 of the water poured out...GRRRR!!!!

2. I am a William and Mary alumni. One of the many things that always meant so much to me about attending that wonderful school was the history there. The steps and bricks are literally warped in the middle from decades and centuries of footsteps...well, my laptop computer is going on three years old and I noticed this week that it too is showing the signs of my constant use. There is a worn spot on my mouse pad and on the left click button. The 'm' and 'n' letters on my computer are completely worn away. And where my wrists rest on the lap top while I type, the plastic is smooth. So like the steps of William and Mary, my laptop too is showing signs of steady use.

3. Today as I got out of the shower and was towelling my hair dry, one of my earrings popped out. I didn't have my glasses on and I am very nearsighted. I picked up the cameo earring and what I thought was the back of the earring. As I went to put the back on to the post, I realized it wasn't the back of my earring, but a crumb of some sort...guess it is time to clean the house:)
