Pirates Rule in Our House

Ever since the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, pirates have ruled in our house. Never mind that real pirates where(and are) thieves and murderers.
"_blank">Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Geoffrey Rush have given them new life as lovable scallywags!
We have seen each of the first two movies dozens of times. The third one we have seen three times at the theater (courtesy of 50 cent Mondays). The kids have Pirates figures that they have bought and have played with until limbs have begun to fall off (and still they play with them!). We go around humming the POTC songs, much to my husbands dismay. He is convinced we will never listen to any other music!
The kids and I will suddenly spout off quotes or near quotes as we are going through our daily lives. Such as 'I've got a jar of dirt", "Pirate", "Why's the rum always gone?", etc. The kids dressed up as Barbossa and Jack last Halloween (my 7 yo daughter loves Barbossa!).
And recently my son wrote a play that had a Captain Jack Skarrow in it! We are reading the books that are based about Jack Sparrow as a young lad. These are quite entertaining! And currently we are doing book studies using the novelizations based on the three movies.
So in our house Pirates rule and I don't think they are likely to be replaces anytime soon!
I gave you an award!
