A Busy 36 hours...warning sickness ahead
Yesterday, my mother-in-law was supposed to arrived around10:30. She was flying in from Florida. We were going to meet her at the airport, help her do a little shopping, then she was going to take us to the Golden Corral for lunch. Afterward, she was going to go see my SIL and the I was going to take the kids to do their Christmas shopping. About 8:30 she called and said her flight had been cancelled and she was still in Florida and would call us back. Turns out that the cargo door on the plane wouldn't close. They discovered this after the plane was loaded and the passengers sat on the plane for an hour while they tried to fix the door. Once they realized they couldn't fix the plane, they unloaded the passengers and rebooked all of them.
Of course, the passengers had to have their luggage checked again. And during the checking of the bags, she ended up having her hairspray, lotion and toothpaste confiscated because the containers were too large to go on the plane in her luggage (why they didn't tell her she could put it in her suitcases she was checking, I am not sure). Anyway, the plane she was rescheduled on didn't arrive until 4 pm. And then it was 30 minutes late, so it was actually 4:30. So she just followed us home and spent the night here.
4:30 am, Katrina came into my room and apologized for waking me, but said she didn't feel well. She said she was either hungry or thirsty or sick. I got her some water and then we were walking back to my room when the moment came. She didn't make it to the bathroom, but threw up on the floor. Once we got over that moment and got the floor cleaned up, we then laid down. She was shivering so I gave her some ibuprofen. By about 5:30, she was asleep again.
We got up about 7:30 and I was feeling queasy, Jack was feeling queasy and Katrina was not feeling well. Between 7:30 and 9:30, she threw up 3 more times. She has spent the day on the sofa going back and forth between moaning and feeling a bit better. She ate some waffles a little while ago and so far has kept them down. We shall see...
Jack and I are feeling better, so hopefully, we just had a brush with the bug and hopefully, we didn't pass it on to my MIL.
Oh yuck. What a welcome! My oldest has never been able to tell when he is stomach sick. My next two, early on, new enough to get to the toilet. My oldest would just cry that his throat hurt. Finally after a few times (don't know why we didn't learn the first time) of my throat hurts, blech, we learned. :-)
