Christmas Meme

My bloggy friend, Sherry, has a fun Christmas Meme at her blog. Please go by and make a new friend this Christmas season! The meme looked like fun, so I am doing it here. I love talking about Christmas!

1.What is your favorite Christmas carol? O Little Town of Bethlehem, Joy to the World, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Silent Night...shucks, I can't think of just one!

2. What is your favorite secular Christmas song? White Christmas, Winter Wonderland, 12 Days of Christmas, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bell Rock...oops, I didn't it again!

3. What is your favorite Christmas movie? If I could only pick one movie to watch over Christmas, it would be It's a Wonderful Life. But, as I wrote earlier this week, there are a lot of movies on our holiday watch list!

4. What is your favorite Christmas memory growing up? Christmas caroling.

5. Do you shop early or are you a late shopper?. When I was younger, I was a very early shopper (done like in October), then I became a Black Friday shopper and enjoyed picking up a few things on Christmas Eve just to be out among the hustle and bustle.

6. Is your tree real or artificial? It is artificial. We prefer real. Last year, we got an artificial tree, and I honestly cannot remember why. This year, we are glad to have it because we didn't have the money to buy a tree. It's kind of a Charlie Brown artificial tree, but it dresses up well.

7. Do you still put tinsel on your tree? If you mean tinsel garlands, yes. If you mean tinsel icicle, yes:) The more glitter the better! We actually have garlands of gold and red decorating our doorways, we have the stringy icicle tinsel pieces on our tree. The kids loved doing that part! And they are not perfectly hung, but they do shine and shimmer:)

8. Do you read the Christmas story every year on Christmas day? We read the Christmas Story on Christmas Eve. A tradition we just added a few years ago.

9. Would you consider yourself to be a Grinch? Not in any way, shape or form!

10. Are you more like Scrooge or Father Christmas? I love to give presents, particularly the perfect ones! That has bothered me most about being broke this year, I love shopping for others.

11. Do you make homemade gifts for friends and family? I have made homemade gifts in the past. This year, I didn't have time to do that. I have made cookies, Christmas decorations, scarves, blankets, pillows, and more. I love making homemade gifts and receiving them.

12. What was the worst Christmas present you ever received? Rechargeable batteries and a battery recharger...I was hoping for jewelry. It was such an off the wall gift and not even on my radar, I was a bit miffed (but hubby's heart was in the right place).

13. What was your favorite Christmas present ever? Besides Jesus, that would be the complete DVD set of The Bionic Woman and Six Million Dollar Man from my hubby a couple of years ago. You can't watch it on reruns.

14. On the average how many presents do you buy for each of your kids? We don't do a present number. We do a budgeted dollar amount.
