Christmas Traditions Part 8 - Decorations
Well, I think this is it...the last of my Christmas Traditions posts..maybe...unless I think of something else to share:) This post will have what our house is decorated like this year. Before I show some pictures, though, I want to mention a bit about a couple of contests where they actually want to see what my decorations look like!
Reviews by Heidi is part of the 12 Blogs of Christmas Giveaway that is being sponsored by the HomeschoolEstore. To enter her contest, you simply need to post photos of how your homeschool room is decorated for the holidays and of course, send her a link). She is giving away a $50 gift certificate to HomeschoolEstore and she has reviewed some wonderful Scholastic Products which are just an example of how you could spend that $50.
Also, starting December 17th, BooMama is hosting a Christmas Tour of Homes!. This is an opportunity where you can share your home decor and visit other people's homes during the holidays...all from the comfort of your home! Also, since people are coming to visit, each person will be posting a favorite recipe. You can find my favorite cookie recipes in a link below.
Without further ado...here is what our home looks like this Christmas!

We lost our normal tree spot this past year when we added these beautiful French doors. Because the things that used to be stored here had to go somewhere. Since we didn't want to move a whole bunch of stuff, we decided to place our tree in the only 'empty' spot in our home. To the left, you catch a slice of our dining room table, this is our where we homeschool. And since our living room, kitchen, den and dining room are basically all open to one another, our home decorations can be seen from the dining room table. Makes it hard to concentrate on school work!

Here is a close up of our tree. We have a hodge podge of William and Mary Christmas ornaments, Airplane ornaments (hubby's collection), some glass ornaments, ornaments the children have made or been given and some ornaments that were on my grandparent's Christmas tree.

Our home sits in the middle of a hill and they had to dig out a flat spot to put it, so the only level place we have in front of our home is about 10 feet wide. And we only have one outdoor electrical outlet, so all the outdoor decor gets placed closely together! The kids love the snow globe. The cats can't stand it!

This snowman was in my bedroom window since I was a child. He has now taken up residence in Katrina's window. I also have a Santa and he is in Jack's window.

Santa is hanging out on our front porch, with his arm full of puppies!

Candy Canes lead the way down our long sidewalk to the front door.

Mary, Joseph and the Baby Jesus are the newest additions to our home decor. We got them last year at the day after Christmas sale! Unfortunately, they are not plugged in because I am out of outdoor electrical hookups. Maybe that will be different next year.

This is from the deck, looking into our French Doors. See all the pretty stickies the kids put on the window? I am hoping for a White Christmas moment. If you have seen the movie, you will remember at the end when they pull back the doors and you can see the snow behind the Christmas tree? I am hoping we will be able to have a similar scene at our house before the Christmas tree comes down.

This is the entryway into our den. Katrina loves standing under the mistletoe! Note the shelves full of books...we love reading!

Here is the entryway into our kitchen.

A couple of singing decorations on top of the piano.

The entryway to the kids rooms and bathroom.

Our table of Christmas figurines.

This is momanna98. I am on my mom's computer and don't want to mess up the settings.
Wow, you decorated a lot. We have our tree, and some decorations on our piano. If I could post pics, I might, but probably not... I already posted of my tree, and the rest is pretty pathetic. :-)
