Try, Try Again...And Sickness, Round 2...

|

Today, I ended up unraveling Katrina's scarf. I had knitted quite a bit on it, but as I feared yesterday, it was twice as wide as it should be and i was afraid I was going to run out of yarn before it was long enough. I have always had a tendency to make scarves too wide, but it had been so long since I had made one, I couldn't rememer what size to make. I tried 40 stitches, but 20 is much better. Oh well, now that I have restarted, it is going very quickly.

We have been enjoying a nice quiet day. Jack woke up saying his throat hurt. Well, mine hurt too and I told him it was probably because of the dry air. I told him to drink some water. The day passed, we watched movies (The Miracle on 24th Street, Dino Autopsy, and the first part of The Tin Man) and he just laid around. By 3, he was telling me that it hurt to swallow. His forehead felt hot and yep, the flashlight revealed some white spots in his throat....lovely! So I called and made an appointment in the morning for him to see the doctor. For tonight, I will give him ibuprofen and tylenol. Hopefully, no one else will get it...Christmas is only a few days away...

Poor Jack...tomorrow is his 11th birthday. We were alos supposed to be going to a 4-H meeting and I had made cupcakes and a sheet cake to take with us so his friends could sing Happy Birthday...that combined with a 1/2 of a sheet cake left over from our family party Sunday nightmeans we have plenty of cake! \

Cake anyone?
