Friday Week in Review

| | Comments (0)

It's been a pretty quiet week, well for us, it has. It was spring break for two of Jack and Katrina's friends, so even though our intention was to do school work in the morning, since we are ahead of schedule for finishing, the only work we really did this week was watch some animated Shakespeare and Jack did math every day.

Monday

No piano this week because of spring break. So Monday afternoon, we took Brandon and Kaylie with us to see the Veggie Tales Pirates movie and National Treasure: Book of Secrets. I enjoyed both movies very much, as did the children (and in between the movies, we ate dinner at Sam's). I love 50 cent Monday at the movies and dinner at Sams. We saw 2 movies for a grand total of 5.00 and our dinner, for the five of us was 19.00 (that was a drink, huge slice of pizza and a cup of ice cream). The kids liked both movies too. My only problem with National Treasure was the whole kidnap issue... I mean why didn't the President just tell them it was a misunderstanding to keep the FBI out of it to begin with...

Tuesday

We had to run to the library and grocery store in the afternoon. I had told Kaylie's mom that perhaps she could come over in the afternoon when we returned. Well, Kaylie's older sister had an ultrasound that morning and her amniotic fluid was low, so they decided to induce. I offered for Kaylie to come spend the night so Cindy could concentrate on her older daugher having a baby. Kaylie, Katrina and I went to the library and ran some errands. I was tickled because I borrowed I Robot. I had never seen it and I enjoyed it.

Kaylie and Katrina had the best time. They ran a cafe. They put on a concert and just played. The day was so beautiful that I read some outside and Jack played outside.

Wednesday

Kaylie's sister had a hard time and they decided to do a c-section, but then things finally started moving along and she had her baby girl naturally about 24 hours after the whole thing began. Cindy had been awake for 36 hours or more so I offered to let Kaylie spend another night. Kaylie and Katrina were ecstatic!

Jack suprised me by doing some of our mulching on his own. We still have mulch to spread, but after my initial hurry which made my knee ache, we are taking it slowly!

Thursday

I spent the day working on my new blog look. I got the front page header looking right, the layout of the main page wide column the way I want it. The individual entry page still is giving me problems with the header. My dang picture won't show up. And I don't have my columns showing yet either. I am hoping that tomorrow I will get it figured out.

In between working on that, the piano man came and tuned our piano (it sounds awesome now). The electrician came and replaced the main breaker in the office as it had gone bad. And the heat pump guy came and found our freeon leak and got it squared away. It's nice to get some things done that we had to put off.

Daniel came home last night We were very glad to see him! We sang karaoke, enjoyed the lovely night and just in general were happy he was home.

Friday

Today a gentleman came to do some work on our deck. It needed a good washing and better staining. The guy we hired to do it last year, didn't do a very good job and it was showing this spring. So we wanted to protect our investment and have a better job done. Jacob was working hard on that today.

I worked a little on my blog (got a small thing figured out) I have been working on my granny blanket. I made cookies for our dinner coming up on Sunday. Since Daniel was out of town last weekend, we are having a family meal this Sunday.

I am making a mushroom pot roast, green bean casserole, veggie tray, some steam fresh veggies, couscous salad, spaghetti salad, biscuits, olives, apple pie, cookies and ice cream....That ought to fill our tummies! I will make the two salads tomorrow

Katrina is not feeling well. Her head hurts, her throat hurts, she is running a fever, doesn't want to eat, has the chills and is whiny. I think she may have the flu. And I thought we were going to get away with not getting it. I was feeling a little achy earlier, but took some ibuprofen and better now. Maybe it was just sympathy pains....I can hope, right!!!!

Hope you had a great week too!
