Movie Review: Jim Henson's The Storyteller
Last week when I was at the library looking at the DVD selection and trying to decide what I would borrow, another lady was looking too. I picked up Apt Pupil and she mentioned what a good movie it was. I replied that I knew as I had seen it years ago. Then she pointed to another DVD called Jim Henson's The Storyteller.
I thought it looked delightful so I brought it home. There are two discs in the definitive collection. One disc has nine little known fairytales and one disc has four Greek myths. These are wonderful episodes with fantastical creatures that only Jim Henson can create. The Greek myths are advised for children ages 8 and up. Katrina, Jack and I have really been enjoying these tales.
The fairy tales are told by John Hurt who is the Storyteller (he also plays Mr. Ollivander in Harry Potter). The Greek Myths are told by Michael Gambon (the second Dumbledore).
We give this collection 3 thumbs up!
