One of My Favorite Vacations - Hilton Head Island

My husband and I met in August of 1990. A year later, things were going well. We felt like we had the world by the tail. We were both working good full time jobs. We both were embarking on second jobs that we hoped to turn into our own businesses (he-computers, me- Tupperware). We had just purchased our first real computer and we had hopes that we would be able to buy our first home within the year

We decided a vacation was in order. We wanted to go to the beach, but we wanted to go to a beach that was a bit out of the ordinary We looked around and decided that Hilton Head South Carolina seemed like a perfect place to visit. It seemed a bit exotic...after all, it was an island and it was some place we had never been. We also made plans to visit nearby Savannah and Charleston.

It was an awesome vacation and one of the best we have had. Hilton Head Island is quiet It is known for its beautiful beaches, wonderful golf courses, and more serene setting We stood in the ocean and dug up sand dollars with our toes. We drove to Charleston for the day and enjoyed a lovely carriage ride and some sight seeing. We also took a day trip to Savannah. We took a ghost walk tour (that was fantastic!) And we ate at the Pirate House...that was awesome! We dined in wonderful restaurants, enjoyed lovely beaches, and drank yummy tropical drinks.

Hilton Head SCholds a special place in our memories because it was our virst vacation together.
