Recapping the Week
Another busy week has come and gone.
Monday
Some school work, some other odds and ends that needed taking care of, then we took Daniel to pick up his Cougar from the shop. He hit a deer back in October and it had an oil leak, but it is all fine and dandy now. After we dropped him off, it was two hours of piano lessons, then a trip to Sam's and a trip to Food Lion.
Tuesday
Tuesday, we did our school work, got piano practice completed and then headed for Bedford. We met some friends at a park there (unfortunately, it was freezing) and we hung out for a bit while Jessie reviewed some sefl-defense moves with the kids. Jessie will be getting her black belt last week and she is very good with children, and we really appreciate her doing this. She teaches the children a few simple things and it makes me feel better. Afterwards, we went to a new Chinese restaurant for dinner. Then we went to the Bedford library to pick up some books. The kids watched the movie, The Bee, while I perused the library book sale.
Wednesday
We got to stay home...that was so awesome! We did school work, the kids put down some mulch and we straightened up a little and we vegged a lot.
Thursday
School work in the morning and then in the afternoon we had a 4-H class. Yesterday the children learned a lot about forestry. It was very interesting. While we were listening to the presenters, I worked some more on my granny afghan. After the 2 hour meeting, then the officers stayed and met as they continued to try and work their way through creating our club bylaws. They are being very thorough and the kids are getting a good idea of what meetings can sometimes be like. After 2 hours, they had gotten through 1/2 a page. We still have 1 1/2 pp to go! By 6:30, we were hungry and 30 minutes from home so we headed to Hardees. In between all of that, I was busy getting those freebies together for you.
Friday
Today has been another busy day. I had phone calls to make. We own two properties, one for our home and one for dh's office when he is home. The well pump has gone out at the office, so I had to call about that. We also want to put in another concrete sidewalk. When we built our deck last year, we had a concrete sidewalk put in and we love it, Our front sidewalk is white rock and with my knee being not quite stable, it is hard to walk on. Plus people in heels don't like it and for our elderly visitors, it is hard to traverse, so I called the fellow who fixed us up with our last sidewalk and he will be coming out to price another one. I also called around trying to find someone to give us an estimate on having our deck powercleaned and stained. The guy who built it did a great job building it, but not so great with staining it and we want it to last. I changed the sheets on my bed, did several loads of laundry, cleaned hamster cages and the litter box, gathered trash, cleaned one bathroom, watched a movie with the kids and got them through the things they needed to do. This afternoon we went and picked up their friends who are spending the night. Today I have spoken with my mom, my stepfather, my oldest stepson, my husband, my mother-in-law, and my dad, each for about 1/2 hour...my ear is tired!
Ooooo I like book sales :)
It does sound like a busy week
hope the sleep over was good and fun for all
