Today in a Nutshell
I overslept a bit. The kids and I got ready and off to church we went. After Sunday School, I went around and gave all of the kids a Children's Bulletin that I had made and told them to be looking for them on the table coming in starting next week. They seemed to like them. After church, I spoke with the pastor's wife, Ruby, about next week's Easter Egg hunt. I am in charge this year, but feel a bit funny because I don't know what they have done in the past so I don't want to do anything 'wrong'.
Came home, got Daniel, said hi to Ashley, the sitter, then Daniel and I left. Since Daniel is only home every other weekend right now, and since holidays such as Easter and Katrina's birthday are fast approaching, it was necessary for he and I to go see what we could find in the stores. We had a nice lunch at Olive Garden and successful shopping at Toys 'R Us.
Daniel wanted to stop by Best Buy and check out movies. So we did. On our way there, I told him I had figured out what I wanted for Mother's Day this year. Last year I saved up my money and bought myself a Nintendo DS Lite. I loved playing with it, but when my nephew was very ill back in the fall, I loaned it to him (his family doesn't have much money and he didn't own one). He liked it so much, that my husband's uncle wanted to buy him mine so that Jonathon would have one (but Paul didn't want to have to go to the store looking for one). It worked out well for us because we needed the money at the time and Jonathan needed some entertainment.
Anyway, I have missed my DS, so I told Daniel I wanted a new one for Mother's Day. Usually I don't ask for anything for Mother's Day except for them to do nice things for me and maybe take me out to eat. Well, when we went in to Best Buy, he purchased a DS for me (the red and black one) and a game (Brain Age). I couldn't believe it. He said he didn't want to forget. I told him he should wrap it up and give it to me on Mother's Day, but he told me to go ahead and enjoy it now.
We got home a little after 4. I wrapped birthday presents, then went online to purchase a couple of other things I wanted for Katrina. Then it was time to go to Awanas. We arrived back home around 8:30. I did laundry, washed dishes and now, now, I am going to go play my game Night!
