What a Day....
I have been going, going, going all day and just realized that it is 11:20 and I haven't blogged yet today, so here we go.
I was up at 7 a.m. this morning. Daniel had gotten up before me and he announced his check had arrived into the business account. We had a long list of things that needed to be taken care of. This was the first full month's check since he started working in December and we had lots to do with it.
I worked on some of my shipping lists and ordered Daniel's prescriptions from Drugstore.com (I love Drugstore.com...if you have never checked it out, go by). Anyway, I did my strength training exercises, got dressed and headed to the bank to deposit our check for our March bills into our personal account. I stopped by Sheetz, got gas and treated myself to a mocha before returning home. That trip took about an hour.
When I got home, I realized that I needed to go to the DMV to get the stickers for the license plate on Daniel's Jeep. He owns a beautiful 1988 Jeep Scrambler that he bought about 12 years ago and had restored. It has been in the shop since last spring. It took the mechanics awhile to figure out the problem (it was intermittent) and then once they figured it out, Daniel wasn't working, so we asked them to hold onto it until we had funds. So when time came to renew the tags the end of December, we held off. Today he was going to pick it up (and drop off his Cougar for inspection and some other repairs), so he needed to be all legal. I got back in the Xterra and drove to the DMV for the proper stickers. That took another hour.
I came home, finished my coupon clipping and list making. Got the kids to eat some lunch.Talked to Daniel about some issues I needed to deal with while he was gone. Then the kids and I left to head to town around 1:00.
We stopped by the recycling center. We dropped off a prescription at CVS (gonna get that 25.00 gift certificate), then we headed to Walmart. Katrina and Jack were very excited. There haven't been any allowances handed out for months and Jack has been waiting for his belated birthday present. He wanted to get a digital camera. He found just what he wanted at Walmart, but dang it, they were out of stock! So still he waits. The camera was less expensive than he had anticipated, so now he got Halo 3 for the Xbox. Katrina had her allowance and some money she made from selling some of her toys, She bought a cool pirate chest with POTC characters in it (on sale for 5.00), a Star Wars Lego set, an Indiana Jones Lego Set and three of the new Pokemon characters. She had been happily building legos all evening.
I had some much needed supplies to get...you know, bathroom and kitchen cleaners, some new clothes for Jack, and some items from the pharmacy section. Fun stuff! After Walmart, we hit the library. I borrowed three movies: Apt Pupil, Madame Bovary, and Jim Henson's The Storyteller. Then we were off to Food Lion.
Food Lion had some awesome sales today and I had some very good coupons! I saved $77+ on my bill! Wahoo! Then we came home in driving rain. Unloaded in steady rain. Then I had to put everything away. Then it was time for supper. I had some paperwork to take care of. I did dishes. Did I mention that my feet are throbbing? I did dishes, then a fellow homeschooler came by and purchased Katrina's kitchen and a stuffed animal. We visited for awhile.
The kids and I just finished watching Herbie Rides Again. We didn't like it as well as the first movie, but it was good.
So, there you are...if you didn't fall asleep, and I haven't bored you to tears, you now now what I did today:)
That's a hugely busy day Melissa! I stayed home with my sick boy. A little housework, a little laundry, a little cooking, a little shoveling and homeschooling Em was about all I did!
