Jack is Growing Up...
Jack is growing up. He likes it when he gets to stay at home for a few hours by himself. He offers to help with things like bringing in the groceries. The other day he went outside and did five loads of mulch on his own while I was inside watching a movie.
Today he wanted to stay home while we went to town. He asked if he did his chores if it would be okay for him to watch television while I was gone(usually there is no television during the week before 5:00 I told him that if he did five loads of mulch and played the piano, then he could watch his Stargate Atlantis Netflix movie that arrived today. Then I went to take my shower so Katrina and I could scoot.
When we came out, he said the wheel had fallen off of the wheelbarrow on his very first load and so he went and took on another task I had talked about a few days ago He dug a hole in the ground so we could relocate a bird feeder to a new home, then he put the pole into the hole and got it all standing up for me. This is the kind of initiative I love to see in my children and I hope to see more of it as my son grows older.
Now if we could only figure out which of the acne treatments out there would be best for him, and what he should do about the hints of facial hair growing on his lip, and how I am supposed to correct my 11 year old son who is now a tad above eye-to eye with me... They grow up so quickly, don't they?
Sounds like you did a fabulous job with him!
