WFMW - Greatest Hits and Popcorn Dilemma
Well, here we are...another WFMW hosted by Shannon at Rocks in My Dryer! Often on the first week of the month, we get to ask questions of others instead of offering our tips, but this month, Shannon has asked us to share our best WFMW posts. I have two to share, but I also have a question.
My question is: my daughter seriously burnt some popcorn this weekend in the microwave. I have cleaned out the sooty remnants, but it still smells like burnt popcorn whenever we use it. Do you have any suggestions about how I can deoderize my microwave?
Now for a couple of my most popular WFMW posts:

Hmmmm, maybe vinegar? I put a little vinegar in a cup of water and let it 'boil' so that it steams on the walls of the microwave. That loosens things up and makes it easier to clean. Vinegar is such a go-to product that I wonder if it would take the smell out, too? You could also try some lemon juice and water, since the lemon juice is also acidic but would smell nicer.
Oh, and don't forget baking soda! How about a paste of water and baking soda to wash down the microwave?
Just some ideas, not sure if they'd work...but worth a try!
Great chore tips!
UGH, I hate the smell of burnt popcorn also. I hope you get the smell out soon.
I think I remember reading something about a lemon in the microwave. Cut it in half and put a glass of water in there and microwave for a little while. I'm not sure if it'll work, but it is worth a try!
I can't wait to try this tips, too! Thanks for asking such a great question!
