Chicago...Day 2 Fireworks!
Well, we saw the fireworks. Actually, they were a bit disappointing. They started about 15 minutes early and lasted for about 10 minutes. As we were walking home, we saw other fireworks in the distance...maybe we attended the wrong show....
Because things had ended so early, we treated ourselves to a 30 minute horse carrige ride. It was absolutely wonderful and made Katrina's night.

It is hard to take pictures of fireworks, but my camera has a fireworks setting, I had to try it out...It was fun and some of the effects were very cool!

I think you are clever I have tired taking photos of fire works before it was a failure
and I would have enjoyed that carriage ride too
Well at least we weren't the only disappointed ones! The announcer even stated the fireworks were to start at 9:30, so we figured that pitiful showing was just a warm up. Heck, even the nightly Disney fireworks or the show from much smaller cities like Toledo Ohio were better.
I've never been on a carriage ride and would LOVE to.
I took photographs of fireworks last night, too. I considered using the fireworks setting on my camera, but the shutter speed was 2 seconds, and I knew I could NEVER hold the camera still for that long. So I used a manual setting and got pretty good results. I don't know what kind of camera you have, but if you want to know what I did, just let me know. I always love photo tips and am happy to pass mine along. :) FYI, my fireworks photos will auto post on my blog at 1 a.m. eastern.
Yes the fireworks show was not as adequate as in previous years, but was this showing on the third of July? If so, that show actually started about fifteen minutes late. But still, the fireworks in Chicago are nothing like Macy's in NYC.
